And science agrees! According to a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/29702043\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">study<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> published in the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Journal of Social Psychology, \u201c<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">performing kindness activities for seven days increases happiness.\u201d It also found that the more acts of kindness participants performed, the happier they were.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kindness is simple, takes very little effort, but creates a ripple effect for changes big and small. We\u2019ve seen the power of that kindness create real change across our amazing community of coaches.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day, celebrated by the Random Acts of Kindness organization whose mission is to, \u201cchange schools, the workplace, families,\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and society<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through kindness.\u201d This day kicks off an entire week dedicated to kindness!<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcoachinstitute.com\/\">HCI<\/a>, we\u2019re celebrating all week! <\/span><b>We want to help spread kindness by encouraging our community to commit 10,000 random acts of kindness all over the world.\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s right\u2014we\u2019re aiming for 10,000 acts of kindness!<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<b>Use #HCIkindness to share your kindness act.\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We want everyone involved from our students to our coaches to our HCI employees. The acts can be as big or as small as you like, as long as you do something for someone else to make them feel special.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And if you need some inspiration, we\u2019ve created a list of 25 simple Acts of Kindness!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>Pay for someone\u2019s coffee.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Even better, get a pay-it-forward chain going!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Give a stranger a compliment.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> You never know what someone is dealing with. A simple compliment or nice word could turn their day around!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Leave money in a vending machine.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Give someone a nice surprise when they go to buy a snack.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Bake cookies for a neighbor.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Whether you\u2019re welcoming them to the neighborhood or just want to make them smile, everyone loves delicious treats!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Send a thank you card.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Letting someone know you appreciate them is always an easy way to brighten someone\u2019s day.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Leave an encouraging note on a public message board. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Believe it or not, you can still find a public board in most grocery stores and even some coffee shops.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Gather old blankets and pillows and donate to a shelter. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have blankets that have seen better days, dog shelters are always looking for items to keep their animals extra comfortable.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Leave an extra tip while out to eat. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Servers work hard and giving them a little extra is an easy way to make their workday better.\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Compliment someone in a service industry about a job well done<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Too often the people who cut our hair, find our size shoes in the back of the store or make our coffee go overlooked. Tell them you appreciate them!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Donate used books to a school or library<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a great way to clear out your closets <\/span><i style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><span>and <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recycle your stuff.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Leave a glowing review of your favorite book online<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Authors work really hard to bring their stories to life and they <\/span><i style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><span>love <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">good reviews\u2014and it helps boost their sales! It will only take you a few minutes but will have a big impact.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Give your time to visit with elderly residents at a nursing home.<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Sign up for a 5k run or walk for a good cause<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a great way to get a good workout in and support something that is important to you.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Hand out water or snacks to people hard at work (police officers, utility workers, etc.).<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sometimes it\u2019s hard to take a break when you\u2019re on the job and they\u2019re often outside in bad weather.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Cut a neighbor\u2019s grass or pull weeds<\/strong>. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Especially if they\u2019re elderly, this could help relieve a lot of stress for them.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Sign up for Amazon Smile so you\u2019re shopping with a purpose<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amazon Smile has the same products, prices, and shopping features as <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amazon<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but when you shop on <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AmazonSmile<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AmazonSmile<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Foundation donates 0.5% of the purchase price of certain eligible products to a charitable organization that you choose.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Smile and say hello to a stranger<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s the easiest way to make someone feel better. You never know who needs it!\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Tell someone you love why they\u2019re important to you<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re all guilty of taking the people we love for granted. Make it a point to let them know how important they are to you. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Let someone cut in front of you in line<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re all busy with places to go\u2014take a second to let someone get ahead!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Bring donuts or fresh fruit to the office or school<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We spend a lot of time with co-workers and colleagues every day. Share a nice pick-me-up and make their morning brighter. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Pick up litter<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Imagine if we all took the time to pick up a few pieces of trash on the sidewalk around our communities!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Tell your boss about someone who\u2019s done a great job.<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We all like to be appreciated at work!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Spread positivity online<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sometimes it\u2019s easy to spread hate online and spend time disagreeing with other people. Take some time to leave nice comments and spread the love.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Volunteer at a food bank.<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Charity organizations are always looking for extra help and it\u2019s a great way to get involved in your community.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">While running errands, return a stray grocery cart.<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s something we should all be doing anyway.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>After you\u2019ve committed your act of kindness, come back and fill out the form below to tell us all about how you spread the love. And science agrees! According to a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/29702043\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">study<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> published in the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Journal of Social Psychology, \u201c<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">performing kindness activities for seven days increases happiness.\u201d It also found that the more acts of kindness participants performed, the happier they were.\n<\/span>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kindness is simple, takes very little effort, but creates a ripple effect for changes big and small. We\u2019ve seen the power of that kindness create real change across our amazing community of coaches.\n<\/span>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day, celebrated by the Random Acts of Kindness organization whose mission is to, \u201cchange schools, the workplace, families,\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and society<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through kindness.\u201d This day kicks off an entire week dedicated to kindness!\n<\/span>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcoachinstitute.com\/\">HCI<\/a>, we\u2019re celebrating all week! <\/span><b>We want to help spread kindness by encouraging our community to commit 10,000 random acts of kindness all over the world.\u00a0<\/b>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s right\u2014we\u2019re aiming for 10,000 acts of kindness!\n<\/span>\n<b>Use #HCIkindness to share your kindness act.\u00a0<\/b>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We want everyone involved from our students to our coaches to our HCI employees. The acts can be as big or as small as you like, as long as you do something for someone else to make them feel special.\u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And if you need some inspiration, we\u2019ve created a list of 25 simple Acts of Kindness!\u00a0<\/span>\n<ol>\n \t<li><b>Pay for someone\u2019s coffee.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Even better, get a pay-it-forward chain going!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><b>Give a stranger a compliment.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> You never know what someone is dealing with. A simple compliment or nice word could turn their day around!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><b>Leave money in a vending machine.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Give someone a nice surprise when they go to buy a snack.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><b>Bake cookies for a neighbor.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Whether you\u2019re welcoming them to the neighborhood or just want to make them smile, everyone loves delicious treats!<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><b>Send a thank you card.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Letting someone know you appreciate them is always an easy way to brighten someone\u2019s day.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><b>Leave an encouraging note on a public message board. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Believe it or not, you can still find a public board in most grocery stores and even some coffee shops.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n \t<li><b>Gather old blankets and pillows and donate to a shelter. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have blankets that have seen better days, dog shelters are always looking for items to keep their animals extra comfortable.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><b>Leave an extra tip while out to eat. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Servers work hard and giving them a little extra is an easy way to make their workday better.\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Compliment someone in a service industry about a job well done<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Too often the people who cut our hair, find our size shoes in the back of the store or make our coffee go overlooked. Tell them you appreciate them!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Donate used books to a school or library<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a great way to clear out your closets <\/span><i style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><span>and <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recycle your stuff.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Leave a glowing review of your favorite book online<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Authors work really hard to bring their stories to life and they <\/span><i style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><span>love <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">good reviews\u2014and it helps boost their sales! It will only take you a few minutes but will have a big impact.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Give your time to visit with elderly residents at a nursing home.<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Sign up for a 5k run or walk for a good cause<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a great way to get a good workout in and support something that is important to you.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Hand out water or snacks to people hard at work (police officers, utility workers, etc.).<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sometimes it\u2019s hard to take a break when you\u2019re on the job and they\u2019re often outside in bad weather.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Cut a neighbor\u2019s grass or pull weeds<\/strong>. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Especially if they\u2019re elderly, this could help relieve a lot of stress for them.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Sign up for Amazon Smile so you\u2019re shopping with a purpose<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amazon Smile has the same products, prices, and shopping features as <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amazon<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but when you shop on <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AmazonSmile<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AmazonSmile<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Foundation donates 0.5% of the purchase price of certain eligible products to a charitable organization that you choose.<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Smile and say hello to a stranger<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s the easiest way to make someone feel better. You never know who needs it!\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Tell someone you love why they\u2019re important to you<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re all guilty of taking the people we love for granted. Make it a point to let them know how important they are to you. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Let someone cut in front of you in line<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re all busy with places to go\u2014take a second to let someone get ahead!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Bring donuts or fresh fruit to the office or school<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We spend a lot of time with co-workers and colleagues every day. Share a nice pick-me-up and make their morning brighter. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Pick up litter<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Imagine if we all took the time to pick up a few pieces of trash on the sidewalk around our communities!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Tell your boss about someone who\u2019s done a great job.<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We all like to be appreciated at work!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><strong style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Spread positivity online<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sometimes it\u2019s easy to spread hate online and spend time disagreeing with other people.
