(Pandemic anyone??) If we haven\u2019t met yet, I\u2019m Carey Peters\u2014co-founder at Health Coach Institute and a 15-year professional health coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m extremely passionate about health and wellness and having coached thousands of people from all walks of life, I\u2019ve found 6 common threads that can help you stay on track health-wise, even when things go awry.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-keeping-your-health-and-wellness-on-track\">Keeping Your Health and Wellness on Track<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Create your vision and be flexible with your timeline<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While it\u2019s important to create a vision of what\u00a0 you want for your health and wellness, things don\u2019t always go according to plan. The trick is to hold to your vision <em>and<\/em> be willing to be flexible when progress takes longer than you\u2019d like.\u00a0Don\u2019t be too hard on yourself, and give yourself grace if you don\u2019t meet your goals on the exact timeline you desire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Clarify Your Reason &#8220;why&#8221; You are Health Conscious<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remembering the reason <em>why<\/em> you\u2019re focusing on your health in the first place will keep you on track when you hit speed bumps. Writing your why down and being as specific as possible as to why you want a specific goal is crucial to hitting your goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. \u201cChoose 3\u201d Habits to Change &#8211; Don\u2019t Overwhelm Yourself by Doing Too Much<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the pandemic, I was juggling a full time job, parenting, homeschooling, and more. I couldn\u2019t do <em>everything<\/em> I wanted for my health, so I decided to choose 3 habits that would make the biggest difference and to commit 100% to those. Small habits done consistently over time can create huge change. Examples include: working out for 30 minutes a day, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcoachinstitute.com\/what-is-a-health-coach\/are-you-drinking-enough-water-10-easy-no-stress-ways-to-drink-more\/\">drinking 132oz. in water a day<\/a>, and 10-minute daily meditation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Set up your Environment for Success<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How might you set up your home and your relationships to support your health goals? For example, my husband and I worked out a schedule so each of us has time for exercise during the week. He fills up bottles of water for the fridge so I can track my water intake and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcoachinstitute.com\/dietetics\/everything-you-need-to-know-about-meal-prepping\/\">we order prepared meals<\/a> during the week so we can eat healthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. Replace \u201cAll or Nothing\u201d Thinking with \u201cSomething is Better than  Nothing\u201d Thinking<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the biggest impediments to making progress with your health is believing that you either have to do all the healthy things perfectly, or you\u2019ll do none of the healthy things at all. Eating one healthy meal or taking one walk or sitting for one 5 minute meditation is better than doing nothing. Trying to do it all \u201cperfectly\u201d is a sure-fire way to set yourself up to fail.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6. Set up Accountability for your Health Results<\/strong>:<strong> Utilize Coaching Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The more accountability you have, the better results you\u2019ll get. If we haven\u2019t met yet, I\u2019m Carey Peters\u2014co-founder at Health Coach Institute and a 15-year professional health coach.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>I\u2019m extremely passionate about health and wellness and having coached thousands of people from all walks of life, I\u2019ve found 6 common threads that can help you stay on track health-wise, even when things go awry.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 id=\"h-keeping-your-health-and-wellness-on-track\">Keeping Your Health and Wellness on Track<\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>1. Create your vision and be flexible with your timeline<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>While it\u2019s important to create a vision of what\u00a0 you want for your health and wellness, things don\u2019t always go according to plan. The trick is to hold to your vision <em>and<\/em> be willing to be flexible when progress takes longer than you\u2019d like.\u00a0Don\u2019t be too hard on yourself, and give yourself grace if you don\u2019t meet your goals on the exact timeline you desire.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>2. Clarify Your Reason \"why\" You are Health Conscious<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Remembering the reason <em>why<\/em> you\u2019re focusing on your health in the first place will keep you on track when you hit speed bumps. Writing your why down and being as specific as possible as to why you want a specific goal is crucial to hitting your goals.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>3. \u201cChoose 3\u201d Habits to Change - Don\u2019t Overwhelm Yourself by Doing Too Much<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>During the pandemic, I was juggling a full time job, parenting, homeschooling, and more. I couldn\u2019t do <em>everything<\/em> I wanted for my health, so I decided to choose 3 habits that would make the biggest difference and to commit 100% to those. Small habits done consistently over time can create huge change. Examples include: working out for 30 minutes a day, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcoachinstitute.com\/what-is-a-health-coach\/are-you-drinking-enough-water-10-easy-no-stress-ways-to-drink-more\/\">drinking 132oz. in water a day<\/a>, and 10-minute daily meditation.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>4. Set up your Environment for Success<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>How might you set up your home and your relationships to support your health goals? For example, my husband and I worked out a schedule so each of us has time for exercise during the week. He fills up bottles of water for the fridge so I can track my water intake and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcoachinstitute.com\/dietetics\/everything-you-need-to-know-about-meal-prepping\/\">we order prepared meals<\/a> during the week so we can eat healthy.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>5. Replace \u201cAll or Nothing\u201d Thinking with \u201cSomething is Better than  Nothing\u201d Thinking<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>One of the biggest impediments to making progress with your health is believing that you either have to do all the healthy things perfectly, or you\u2019ll do none of the healthy things at all. Eating one healthy meal or taking one walk or sitting for one 5 minute meditation is better than doing nothing. Trying to do it all \u201cperfectly\u201d is a sure-fire way to set yourself up to fail.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>6. Set up Accountability for your Health Results<\/strong>:<strong> Utilize Coaching Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The more accountability you have, the better results you\u2019ll get.
