Russ Hosmer isn\u2019t your typical coach. A U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran and former Physical Training Advisor for the USMC Eastern Recruiting Region, Russ has spent decades helping others transform their physical and mental health. But his journey wasn\u2019t just about leading others; it was about transforming himself. His story is a testament to what\u2019s possible when purpose, pain, and passion converge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m not here just to play the game,\u201d Russ says with a quiet intensity. \u201cI\u2019m here to change the game.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After leaving the military, Russ wanted to take his experience to the next level. He launched Constant Progression<\/a>, a brand rooted in physical fitness and mental resilience. Already an ISSA-certified personal trainer<\/a> and having influenced Marine Corps physical training programs presented to Congress, Russ knew his mission was shifting. He had already seen success in helping others, but he felt a deeper calling to evolve his approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always strived to be better myself. Being a coach isn\u2019t just a job for me, it\u2019s the path that keeps me growing. It\u2019s my vehicle for change,\u201d Russ explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Spark: A Call to Serve Again<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Like many veterans, Russ battles PTSD, but he didn\u2019t let it define him. Instead, he transformed his struggle into purpose. One day, after watching a video by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs discussing PTSD treatment, something shifted in him. The message ignited a movement within him that he couldn\u2019t ignore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat he said stirred up so many thoughts,\u201d Russ reflects. \u201cI locked myself in my office for three hours and created an entire PTSD recovery and resilience initiative.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, that initiative has garnered the attention of Louisiana\u2019s governor, the Secretary of Louisiana Veterans Affairs, and a U.S. Congressman. Russ is already piloting the program with clients, with plans to eventually launch a nationwide certification for Trauma Resilience Officers (TROs)<\/em>, aimed at embedding this framework within police, fire, and military organizations across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why HCI? A Strategic Pivot<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In late 2023, Russ took the leap and officially launched his health coaching business. But he knew to truly scale, he needed professional grounding. After extensive research, he found that the Health Coach Institute (HCI) stood out above the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo one else offered the level of instruction, content, and ongoing support that HCI did,\u201d he says. In June 2024, Russ enrolled in the Become a Health and Life Coach<\/a> program, and he wasn\u2019t alone. His wife, Danielle, a nurse pursuing a master\u2019s in counseling, joined him in the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTaking this course together wasn\u2019t just about business growth; it brought us closer on a personal level. The exercises and deep conversations helped us connect on a new level.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russ and Danielle\u2019s plan is to create a comprehensive wellness business: she will lead the clinical services, and he will continue expanding his mindset mastery and PTSD programs. Together, they are building a full-spectrum solution to help people transform their health, minds, and lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking, Scaling, and Serving<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Today, Russ\u2019s business is primarily virtual, but his vision extends beyond the screen. Public speaking events are on the horizon, with a mission to normalize trauma recovery conversations, especially within the first responder communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA lot of people think they\u2019re alone in their trauma,\u201d he shares. \u201cWhen they hear someone else\u2019s story, it\u2019s like, \u2018Man, they\u2019re talking to me. I know exactly what they\u2019re going through.\u2019 That connection can change everything.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russ credits HCI with providing the structure and foundation needed to build Constant Progression<\/em> into the enterprise it is today. \u201cHCI gave me the tools and legitimacy to scale my business. Without them, I wouldn\u2019t be where I am today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran and former Physical Training Advisor for the USMC Eastern Recruiting Region, Russ has spent decades helping others transform their physical and mental health. But his journey wasn\u2019t just about leading others; it was about transforming himself. His story is a testament to what\u2019s possible when purpose, pain, and passion converge.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not here just to play the game,\u201d Russ says with a quiet intensity. \u201cI\u2019m here to change the game.\u201d<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>After leaving the military, Russ wanted to take his experience to the next level. He launched<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/russ.hosmer.7\"> Constant Progression<\/a>, a brand rooted in physical fitness and mental resilience. Already an<a href=\"https:\/\/www.issaonline.com\/certification\/personal-trainer-certification\"> ISSA-certified personal trainer<\/a> and having influenced Marine Corps physical training programs presented to Congress, Russ knew his mission was shifting. He had already seen success in helping others, but he felt a deeper calling to evolve his approach.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always strived to be better myself. Being a coach isn\u2019t just a job for me, it\u2019s the path that keeps me growing. It\u2019s my vehicle for change,\u201d Russ explains.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-spark-a-call-to-serve-again\"><strong>The Spark: A Call to Serve Again<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Like many veterans, Russ battles PTSD, but he didn\u2019t let it define him. Instead, he transformed his struggle into purpose. One day, after watching a video by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs discussing PTSD treatment, something shifted in him. The message ignited a movement within him that he couldn\u2019t ignore.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cWhat he said stirred up so many thoughts,\u201d Russ reflects. \u201cI locked myself in my office for three hours and created an entire PTSD recovery and resilience initiative.\u201d<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Today, that initiative has garnered the attention of Louisiana\u2019s governor, the Secretary of Louisiana Veterans Affairs, and a U.S. Congressman. Russ is already piloting the program with clients, with plans to eventually launch a nationwide certification for <em>Trauma Resilience Officers (TROs)<\/em>, aimed at embedding this framework within police, fire, and military organizations across the country.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-hci-a-strategic-pivot\"><strong>Why HCI? A Strategic Pivot<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>In late 2023, Russ took the leap and officially launched his health coaching business. But he knew to truly scale, he needed professional grounding. After extensive research, he found that the Health Coach Institute (HCI) stood out above the rest.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cNo one else offered the level of instruction, content, and ongoing support that HCI did,\u201d he says. In June 2024, Russ enrolled in the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcoachinstitute.com\/programs\/health-life-coach\/\"> Become a Health and Life Coach<\/a> program, and he wasn\u2019t alone. His wife, Danielle, a nurse pursuing a master\u2019s in counseling, joined him in the program.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cTaking this course together wasn\u2019t just about business growth; it brought us closer on a personal level. The exercises and deep conversations helped us connect on a new level.\u201d<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Russ and Danielle\u2019s plan is to create a comprehensive wellness business: she will lead the clinical services, and he will continue expanding his mindset mastery and PTSD programs. Together, they are building a full-spectrum solution to help people transform their health, minds, and lives.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-speaking-scaling-and-serving\"><strong>Speaking, Scaling, and Serving<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Today, Russ\u2019s business is primarily virtual, but his vision extends beyond the screen. Public speaking events are on the horizon, with a mission to normalize trauma recovery conversations, especially within the first responder communities.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>\u201cA lot of people think they\u2019re alone in their trauma,\u201d he shares. \u201cWhen they hear someone else\u2019s story, it\u2019s like, \u2018Man, they\u2019re talking to me. I know exactly what they\u2019re going through.\u2019 That connection can change everything.\u201d<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Russ credits HCI with providing the structure and foundation needed to build <em>Constant Progression<\/em> into the enterprise it is today. \u201cHCI gave me the tools and legitimacy to scale my business.
