The HCI Pathway Program Faculty

NBHWC has stringent faculty requirements for all approved training programs. As a result, the The HCI Pathway Program faculty team is required to meet or exceed those standards. For the beta course, the two primary instructors will be Health Coach Institute faculty members, Kaley Hixson and Brooke Jeffries.

Kaley Hixon Faculty 1Coaching Education Specialist, Program Director for The HCI Pathway Program, and Faculty Instructor at Health Coach Institute.

Kaley Hixson has a Master’s Degree in Positive Psychology, with an emphasis in Coaching Psychology and is passionate about holistic wellness and the mind-body connection. Kaley is the primary developer of The HCI Pathway Program at Health Coach Institute.

Throughout the 15 years that led to joining HCI, Kaley immersed herself in all-things holistic health and mind-body healing. In addition to receiving her BS in Psychology with a concentration in Health Psychology, Kaley studied holistic massage and bodywork at Irene’s Myomassology Institute, ultimately leading to her becoming Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (BCTMB). Since 2009, Kaley has enjoyed working with a diverse clientele in helping them achieve greater levels of personal well-being.

In 2015, Kaley studied chiropractic for 2 years before ultimately discovering the fields of positive psychology and professional coaching. Since 2017, Kaley has been immersed in coaching education and practice; she has earned 4 coaching certifications and a Master’s in Positive Psychology, with a concentration in Coaching Psychology, while at the same time developing a successful private coaching practice that focuses on personal well-being and positive organizational development.

Kaley’s passion for coaching stems from her love of vitalistic philosophy; that all living beings are capable of self-growth, self-healing, and self-regulation – a love that was developed while she was in chiropractic school. Vitalism tells us that growth and healing do not require help from the outside, but rather a simple lack of interference. Kaley sees coaching, in its essence, as a way of helping others remove interferences that come in the form of limiting beliefs, distorted perceptions, and unmet needs for high-level self-care practices; she is continually amazed by the transformational power that presence, deep-listening, and subtle shifts-of-perception can provide.

In order to best support others in unleashing their innate wisdom and profound capability for growth and development, Kaley is committed to a life-long journey of high-level self-care and personal and professional development, which includes working with her own coaches and mentors along the way.

Personal Information

Born and raised in Michigan, Kaley spent her early adult years living in Detroit. Her most fond memory of Detroit is helping to develop a grass-roots, urban-farming community in one of the most burnt-down sections of the city. From 2009-2014, Kaley enjoyed living in various places in Canada, which included spending a year doing a help-exchange at a unique eco-retreat on a remote island in the Bay of Fundy. From there, Kaley spent a year in Texas and 3 years in Kansas before moving to her current home just outside of Burlington, Vermont. When Kaley is not working or studying, she is likely doing one of two things: enjoying a quiet evening at home with her son, Evan, her partner, Brandon, and their cat, Aurora, or – exploring the vibrant music festival culture in Quebec.
