We’ve all had days where we arrive at work, coffee in hand, ready to jump in and get all the things done. Then there are the other days…the days where we just want to jump back into bed!

Motivational Quotes for Work Success in Any Situation

On those days when motivation is hard to find, having specific motivational quotes for work can inspire you and help you navigate any difficult day. We’ve gathered our favorite quotes to motivate you at work and keep you going no matter the day of the week!

You can pick one quote for each day or each week, based on whatever you have going on and how motivated you’re feeling. We recommend printing them out and posting them in your office or around your desk.

You can even make screensavers with them. Just make sure they’re somewhere front and center. Feel free to share them with friends, who may be in need of some motivation too.

Motivation for work performance. Sometimes we have to just buckle down and get the job done! If you’re feeling like you need some encouragement, these quotes will help get you moving.

“You’ve got to get up every morning with determination if you’re going to go to bed with satisfaction.” —George Lorimer
“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” —Thomas Edison
“In order to master aliveness—in life and in business—we must let go of the habit of being stopped.” —Carey Peters, Co-founder of Health Coach Institute

Motivation to navigate change. One thing for certain is that things never stay the same. For better or worse, there will be shifts in your workload, changes in management, or co-workers will come and go. Change can be hard to deal with, but with the right mindset it can be seen as an opportunity!

“It is a revolutionary act to make the decision that feeling gloriously, blissfully, dazzlingly, unapologetically alive is more important than feeling fear and doubt.” —Stacey Morgenstern, Co-founder of Health Coach Institute
“When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.” —Helen Keller
“We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.” —Joseph Campbell

Motivation for uplifting co-workers. Sometimes co-workers can become like family—and just like family, sometimes we have to have hard conversations or lift each other up. Share these quotes with co-workers so you can be supportive and motivating!

“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” —Theodore Roosevelt
“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.” —Earl Nightingale

Motivation when things are hard. Maybe there’s a problem with management or your performance review didn’t go the way you wanted. Maybe you’re looking to switch careers but don’t know how to take the first step. If you’re having a hard time at work, these quotes will help you push through the difficult times and come out stronger on the other side.

“Just do what you love and just do it with love, no matter what your age is.” —Eric Neuner, CEO of Health Coach Institute
“Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire.” —Oprah Winfrey

How To Stay Motivated At Work

No matter how your day at work is going, you still have a job to do and sometimes you must dig deep in order to finish the day strong. When you find yourself struggling to get—or stay—motivated, here are some great tips to help you tackle that to-do list!

Jazz up your workspace. A messy, disorganized desk often hinders productivity. Take some time to dust off the cobwebs, clean your computer screen, and organize the clutter around your desk. Bring in fresh flowers or plants, add a fancy new candle, and hang a couple of photos or a piece of art you admire.

Break big tasks down into smaller tasks. Sometimes when we have a big project, it can feel overwhelming to think about everything that has to get done. Make a list of all the small tasks and start taking them one at a time. Check off the small wins to feel like you’re making progress daily.

Set deadlines. Even if something doesn’t have a hard deadline, give yourself a time frame for when it needs to be finished. This will help you manage your time and plan accordingly. Try and set your priorities and make a list before you leave the office, so when you come to work in the morning you’ll be ready to go.

Ask for help. If you get stuck, ask a coworker for input and ideas. Sometimes collaboration is the best way to jumpstart a project and get a fresh perspective if you’re stuck in the middle of one. This will encourage you to keep going when you start to lose steam

Give yourself a reward. Rewards are a great motivator. So make a deal with yourself that after you finish a certain number of tasks or work for a certain period of time that you’ll get a reward—a piece of candy, a coffee break, or a quick scroll through Instagram.

Get moving and take a break. Breaks are essential to staying motivated. Give yourself regular breaks throughout the day, and bonus points if you get moving! Go for a walk or do some quick stretches at your desk. Taking several short breaks is actually known to boost your productivity too, so it’s a win, win.

Track progress. It’s important that you keep track of everything you get done to remind yourself that you’re awesome and you’re making progress! So whether it’s a to-do list, items on your calendar, or tasks in project management software, mark all of those to-dos off as done!
